Course Objectives:

The Cybercrime events team are back, but this time it’s a hand’s on experience. This is no ordinary security course. We take you on a journey into the mind of a hacker to determine the motivations, tools and techniques criminals use to gain access to personal and corporate information. From initial target selection we then take you into murky word of social engineering and Cybercrime.

Social engineering is a set of tactics and psychological tricks used by hackers on computer users in order to gain entry to computer systems. Examples of social engineering range from impersonating an employee to gain entry to a company's offices and systems; dumpster diving, or looking through a person's or organization's garbage for important documents that might give a hacker clues on how to break into a network; spam mailing and e-mail hoaxes; and hidden e-mail attachments like viruses.

Then it’s a deep dive into the tools and techniques favoured by the bad guy to exploit you and your company. From network intrusion to wireless hacking, password cracking, data mining and much more. It’s a full hands on experience you won’t forget. This is the ideal opportunity to get your hands dirty and try out the tools for real and witness, the sometimes alarming results for yourself.

Finally, we look at how the bad guys cover their tracks and how you can catch them red handed. Understand how network forensics, auditing and file signatures work. As well as understanding how new development in encryption can help protect your secrets. This unique 3 day hands on course provides Security, law enforcement and IT professionals with the knowledge and skills to not only understand the nature of these attacks but also deploy strategic countermeasures and learn about prevention and how it could save your business. Includes published book, professional tuition, Lab Manual & Software DVD for each delegate.
